Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Ground Truth Services collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Who we are. Ground Truth Services, a registered business name of Michael John Hundy, ABN 29 974 619 771, Brisbane, Queensland. Contact: mick@thehundystudio.com.
2. What we collect. We collect the contact details you give us, such as your name, role, business, email address and phone number. When you engage us, we also collect the information and records you send us for the work, and what we see and note on site. Business records often contain personal information about staff, customers or suppliers.
3. Information about other people. When your records or your people tell us about someone, we use that information only for your engagement, we keep it confidential, and we don't use it for anything else. No note, figure or photograph we make on site identifies a person.
4. How we collect and hold it. We collect personal information from you and your business: by email, through files you send us, in conversation and on site. We hold it in our email, file storage, accounting and record-keeping systems, which are run by third-party providers, and we take reasonable steps to keep it secure.
5. Why we collect it. We use personal information to reply to you, to prepare a proposal, to do the work you engage us for, to invoice you, and to keep proper business records. We don't sell personal information.
6. Software, including AI-assisted tools. We use software for scheduling, administration, file handling, research, analysis, drafting and record-keeping, and some of those tools are AI-assisted. Where such a tool handles your information, it is handled under the same confidentiality and security obligations set out here.
7. Automated decision-making. We don't use automated systems to make decisions about you that could affect your rights or interests. Decisions about your engagement are made by a person.
8. Disclosure, including overseas. We disclose personal information to the providers that run our email, file storage, accounting and other operational systems, so they can provide those services to us. Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't otherwise disclose it unless you agree or the law requires it.
9. This website. This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies, and it has no forms. Our hosting provider may record technical information, such as your IP address and the pages you request, to run and secure the site.
10. Marketing emails. We send marketing emails only to people who have opted in to receive them. Every such email identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link.
11. Security, retention and data breaches. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, and to keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. After that, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. If we suspect a data breach, we assess it promptly; where it is likely to result in serious harm, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, consistent with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
12. Access, correction and complaints. You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to correct it if it is wrong. You may also complain to us if you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles. Email mick@thehundystudio.com and we will respond within a reasonable time and tell you how we have dealt with your request or complaint. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
13. Changes. We may update this policy from time to time, and the current version is always on this page.
